Artist, illustrator, and street culture connoisseur Yue Wu presents his basketball court, which is inspired on the first court he designed with Stephane Ashpool, founder of Pigalle. Yue Wu talks with Amal Alhaag (Metro54) about his work and its underlying themes, such as French cultural politics, global street culture, and power structures.

Wu Yue (ไผๆœˆ) was born in 1983 in Beijing, he spent his childhood at the academy of the fine arts in Beijing, where he was raised by his grandfather professor in printing images. He joined his parents in Pantin-France in 1991 and graduated from lโ€™ENSAD in Paris in 2007.
From illustration to painting, to animation or directing, drawing is at the base of any creative process and describes his work as a combination of traditional basis from China and the free thinking and inspiration found in counter-culture. His past work includes: music videos for Kid Cudi, Verbal and Yoon, Hocus Pocus, and Kid Sister; โ€œOn the 5th Moonโ€ solo exhibition at Pigalle; TV commercials for 02 and Coca Cola; Onitsuka Tiger Koiklub video; a line of special edition Lebron James sneakers; amongst other high profile projects.
