Storytelling and Game Night w/ Saber Aidrus
On the 24th of October, we’re hosting a special event with comedian and creator of the bluffing card game DULMI, Saber Aidrus. Join us at Metro54, as part of his Propaganda Tour for an afternoon of storytelling, card games and bashaal (fun) — inspired by Somali family life and culture. Expect a healthy amount of chaos! Following the presentation, we’ll split into groups to play DULMI, where you’ll compete, bluff and try not to get caught lying.
DULMI is a chaotic family bluffing card game where you collect relatives, claim powers you may or may not have, and challenge your opponents when their family starts to sound a little fake. Every relative has their own agenda. Abti thinks fresh air fixes everything. Saber has one eye on his uncle and the other on his documents. Amina is convinced the answer will come to her in a dream. Iman keeps the peace but always gets the last say. Ayeeyo just wants to feed you. Aden wants his Eid money. Hooyo holds everyone's coins for "safekeeping." And Abdulle? He always gets away with it.
Expect live stories, group interactions, Mafia and DULMI. Saber’s bluffing card game about building the strongest family without getting caught lying. Come with friends. Come alone. You’ll probably end up talking to strangers anyway.
Saber Aidarus is a Somali-Dutch content creator, comedian and the creator of SaberOH!, known for his animated stories inspired by Somali family life, culture and everyday experiences Through The Propaganda Tour, he's bringing his stories off the screen and into real life, connecting people through comedy, culture and games.
