Closing Weekender of Diasporic Life! Takeover with AFRIKADAA
We invite you to make the SONIC WAVE STUDIO vibrate and incorporate the potential of sound as a means of resistance — a healing force, where listening becomes an act of liberation. This project proposes a conceptual re-configuration of the artist’s studio: it becomes a recording studio where sounds are not merely heard, but embodied, lived, and shared as a space of joyful resistance.
This live-program will initially unfold with a Speakeasy on Friday evening at Metro54.
On Saturday, AFRIKADAA will host workshops, performances & jam sessions with Roger Raspail, Gildas Lutin, Napoleon Maddox & Sophia Mitiku. They will lead a Sonic Wave Studio Recording, an iterative research laboratory — a space for vocal alchemy, dreaming and transformative gestures.
Following into the evening, AFRIKADAA will lead a Sonic Wave Studio Recording, an iterative research laboratory––a space for vocal alchemy, dreaming and transformative gestures.
We intend to disrupt the colonial continuum, and repair our bodies and narratives through shared vibrations. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
