Breathing Room:
~Air Sliding Between~
w/ Sun Chang

As the last week before the New Year comes to a close, we invite you to join a somatic workshop led with Sun Chang. Through attuning the subtle movement of air through the body—air as a metaphor for autonomy moving between calcified structures—we drift, gather, and open space for transformation.

In Workshop: Reimagine Family, Sun will guide participants in re-imagining and cultivating a more-than-human family, exploring how we might de-link from and re-root beyond white-supremacist, colonial, capitalist, patriarchal, and heteronormative nuclear-family ideals.

🔥Date: Saturday 20th Dec
🔥Time: 15:30 - 18:00 (door open 15:00)
🔥Location: Westerdoksdijk 597
🔥Please RSVP here, spots are limited.

This workshop follows Sun’s community-building methodology, weaving together co-reading, somatic drawing, and sharing circles. It is crafted with care for an intersectional community of queer and BIPOC participants. Since the spots are limited, please RSVP here.

SUN CHANG (They/She) is a social artist, pedagogical designer, independent publisher based in Amsterdam NL and Wuhan CN. Sun Chang’s participatory and community-based projects investigate social fabrics and assigned social roles. Sun initiated the project M•Othersm (2020-2024), which later transformed into Family Embodiment Practice, a translocal queer and feminist archive, with a pedagogy of practising care relationships and more-than-human kinship.

Breathing Room is a program series that acts as a proposition to dream out loud. We build upon vibrant sonic and visual cultures to address the racial, political, and ecological turmoil that shape our societies, our streets, and the wellbeing of our communities.

This workshop is focussed on the BIPOC and Queer communities.
